It's a minute long, it makes no sense - and it's one of the most successful viral videos in recent memory, picking up more than 4.5 million views on YouTube at time of writing, and that figure is rising fast.
Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen - or PPAP, as all the cool kids are calling it - features a Japanese man in lurid yellow clothing gyrating to tinny beat, while rapping (sort of) about fruit and stationary, with a spot of mime thrown in for good measure.
It's really hard to do its inane infectiousness justice. You're better off just watching the stupid thing, but be warned: It will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day:
The yellow-clad fruit-and-pen-haver is Piko-taro - a character created by comedian and DJ Kosaka Daimaou, who is surely poised on the brink of Psy-style international celebrity, with various outlets describing PPAP as the 'next Gangnam Style.'
