Singer Paul McCartney has reportedly been hospitalised in Japan due to a viral infection.
The Beatles legend cancelled a series of concerts in South Korea and Japan earlier this week after coming down with a mystery illness and now editors at The Sankei Sports newspaper report the 71-year-old has been admitted to a hospital in Tokyo.
Revealing the latest on McCartney's health crisis earlier this week, his representative Perri Cohen said the concert cancellations were unavoidable.
"He was hoping to be better but the doctors have ordered him complete rest. Paul has been extremely moved by the messages from his fans and is upset to be letting them down," she said.
McCartney issued his own statement on Wednesday writing, "I was really looking forward to visiting and playing in South Korea for the first time and I'm sorry to be letting fans down. I'm very disappointed by this and hope to be able to visit soon."
