KEY POINTS:
A Latin Lothario who promised to set New Zealand women's hearts racing in two concerts later this year has proved himself a love rat.
Baritone Patrizio Buanne, touted as the man "women want and men want to be", has cancelled his two New Zealand shows.
And to add insult to injury, he has scheduled two more for fans across the ditch.
Buanne, 28, was scheduled to perform at Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre on May 31 and at the Civic Theatre in Auckland on June 2.
Dainty Consolidated Entertainment said the concerts had been cancelled, due to circumstances beyond the company's control.
Ticket holders could obtain refunds from the place of purchase.
The company could not immediately confirm how many tickets had sold in New Zealand.
However, "overwhelming demand" has prompted two extra shows to be added to his national tour in Australia.
Buanne was to come to New Zealand after his Australian tour.
Born in Italy, Buanne moved to Austria when he was five and began performing at the age of 11.
The singer is said to be inspired by the "legendary Italian American singers of the 50s and 60s," including Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.
His first album, The Italian, reached number 3 on the Australian album charts.
