She's been making headlines all over the place for her recent work choreographing videos for Justin Bieber, but 23-year-old local girl Parris Goebel has been one of New Zealand's most successful dancer/choreographers for years.
She's worked with Janet Jackson and Jennifer Lopez, and recently choreographed local film Born To Dance. Plus she's led her dance crews to multiple world championship titles, and created a whole new style of dance known as Polyswagg.
Tonight at 8pm, Maori TV launches a new online series called The Palace, which follows Goebel and her dancers as they prepare for the 2015 World Hip-Hop Dance Championships, and provides an opportunity to meet some of the key dancers and their families including loveable Tokoroa-born brothers Mikey and Joseph Metuakore, who are defying the odds to achieve their hip-hop dreams, and teenage sisters Ruthy and Kaea Pearce, who left behind their Northland lives for a chance to learn under Goebel.
