According to a

new report

published by RadarOnline, Longoria and her basketball star husband Parker agreed to harpoon their three-year marriage after she discovered hundreds of sexy text messages on his cellphone.

Longoria's close pal,

Mario Lopez

, has confirmed the existence of the texts.

"Eva wants everyone to know, she's devastated by the rumours of Tony's infidelity. She loved her husband and is heartbroken about their split," said Lopez. "But she's strong."

There are also allegations Longoria's estranged husband cheated on her earlier in the marriage with another woman, whom he communicated with via Facebook.

Word is Longoria and Parker had come to an agreement that they would divorce, but hadn't discussed when they would announce the news of their split to the press.

Well, RadarOnline claims Longoria's fury runneth over, and that she was so incensed by Parker's alleged infidelity and sexting, she filed for divorce first and cut him to the chase.

"Eva was hurt and she wanted a little revenge," a source tells the website. "So she blindsided Tony with the divorce filing.

"They were working out the details about who was going to file and when. They didn't want it to become a messy divorce. Then Eva got a little revenge and didn't tell Tony she was filing and dropped the papers on him, catching him off balance for the media blitz."

The source adds: "They were discussing how to proceed for a while. Suddenly, Eva not only filed the papers but then went public with Tony's relationship with Erin. He was surprised, to say the least."

The report also slams claims that the text exchanges between Parker and his 'other woman' were of the vanilla variety.

A source close to Parker claims that the NBA star had sent numerous text messages to Barry, but that they were "innocent".

"The texts were flirtatious and sexual and 'crossed the line'," claims Radar.

TMZ also reports

that while Parker admits to the sexting, he did not have a physical relationship with Barry.

"They knew each other, sent each other messages," a source claims. "It was flirtatious, but he never did anything with her."

'We love each other deeply...'

Longoria herself has also commented briefly on her divorce.

"It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce," she tweeted. "We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness."

The couple married in 2007 and has no kids together. They also have a prenuptial agreement.

Meanwhile, Longoria has cancelled her November 21 appearance at the American Music Awards.

says Parker's teammate Brent Barry is now divorcing his wife Erin - the woman alleged to have exchanged texts with Parker.

Tony Parker has spoken out and trashed earlier reports that he was blindsided when Eva Longoria filed for divorce this week.

"Eva and I have been discussing our situation privately," Parker says in

a statement to People

. "I was aware that she would be filing for divorce in Los Angeles."

The basketball star also denied TMZ's initial report (since retracted) that he filed for divorce first.

"I did not file for divorce in Texas and did not hire divorce attorneys in either Texas or California," he says. "We plan to continue to keep our discussions of this matter private."
