The New Zealand Music Awards are not until October but the first round of finalists in the Pacific and country music categories have been announced .
R&B-pop act Spacifix have three nominations, including Best Pacific Music Album for their debut album Much Love, Best Pacific Group and Best Pacific Song for Gotta Get Like This.
Ill Semantics, John Chong-Nee, PNC, Aaradhna and Vaniah Toloa each have two nominations.
The winners will receive a Tui at the Pacific Music Awards on May 31.
Meanwhile, the Topp Twins are up against Warren Love Band and Johnny Possum's Good Time Hootin Band for the Tui for Best Country Music Album.
The winner will be announced at the Gold Guitar Awards in Gore on June 1.
