We loved them on the small screen, but the Outrageous Fortune exhibition at Auckland Museum did not do outrageously well.
Auckland Museum spokeswoman Melanie Cooper said the exhibition on the hit TV3 show, which ran from December 15 to May 1, attracted 30,000 people, about 10,000 fewer than they hoped for. "When you think 400,000 watched the last episode, the show has a massive fan base," Cooper said.
However, those attending had introduced a new dynamic to the museum.
"Our main driver was to attract a new audience and on that we did incredibly well. Half our visitors were aged 20 to 39 so we achieved in getting younger people into the museum," she said.
A survey of 4000 of the visitors showed the exhibition had a 94 per cent satisfaction rating.
She said people had come from Australia especially to see the exhibition.
