This Rugby World Cup thing that's on over the next few months is proving useful for promoting our local music industry too.
The Going Global Music Summit, which is running in Auckland on September 12 and in Wellington on September 14 as part of the REAL New Zealand Festival, will offer advice to musicians looking to take their music overseas.
Key figures from some of the world's top indie labels, such as Matador and French Kiss, among many others, will attend seminars during the day and the night-time showcase is shaping up as the biggest local gig in a long time.
Starting at 6pm at Shed 10 on Queens Wharf the line-up includes Collapsing Cities, The Sami Sisters, Zowie, The Vietnam War, Ghost Wave, Bang Bang Eche!, The Stereo Bus, Seth Haapu, The Transistors and Computers Want Me Dead.
