KEY POINTS:
Flabby arms, big bottoms and a complete lack of co-ordination will not stop New Zealand celebrities from strutting their stuff in the up-coming season of Dancing With The Stars.
The popular show, returning to living rooms nationwide in the May next year, has confirmed the first four stars to take to the floor.
Boxer Monty Betham, actor Miriama Smith, radio and TV presenter Martin Devlin and performer Tina Cross will team up with professional dancers for the 2008 series.
The final four celebrities were yet to be confirmed.
Tina Cross set aside fears of displaying her self-described flabby arms when she agreed to be on the show.
Despite a lengthy stage career, Cross told the Sunday Star Times she had no formal dance training.
"On TV in the mid to late 70s when I first started, we just chucked in some steps. It was twee stuff nothing like this. Naturally, I thought and thought about it. You're putting yourself out there your wrinkles and your flabby arms."
It is not often you here men commenting on the size of their bums, but for former league star-turned-boxer Monty Betham, the size of his derriere was a real consideration.
This little known insecurity has left Betham wondering where the show's producers would find suitably flattering trousers.
"I have no idea what I'm going to wear. I do have a big bum and always struggle to find an outfit," he told the Star Times.
Sports Broadcaster Martin Devlin admitted his wife thinks he has a striking resemblance to an "uncoordinated worm".
"There's got to be a resident car wreck in every one of these things and you don't have to be able to splice DNA to figure out that is me".
Lotto hostess Hilary Timmins and former ironman champion Cory Hutchings are also rumoured to be taking part.
