Some of New Zealand's top performers are coming together for a rare repeat concert that will celebrate Bob Marley's music.
The NZ All-Stars performed a series of sellout concerts, Marley: Celebrate the legend, in December and February, attracting nearly 7000 fans who saw the likes of Tiki Taane and Boh Runga unite to play hits from the late reggae star.
Given its success, promoter Jackie Sanders said ahead of scheduled performances in Australia, it was a "really good opportunity" for the musicians to perform one last time for the New Zealand public.
A number of household names will play a 30-song set at West Auckland's Trusts Arena on November 30.
Included in the line up is Taane and Runga, Katchafire's Logan Bell, Che Fu, Ria Hall, Kora's Laughtan Kora, Anna Coddington, Annie Crummer, and musicians from The Black Seeds, Supergroove, Blindspott and I am Giant.
Sanders said it was "very difficult" to get all the artists on the same weekend, likely spelling the end of the concert series for North Island fans, although another gig is planned for the South Island in summer.
"We've got a couple of festival appearances during summer but this will probably be the only chance to see the full show," she said.
Bob Marley held a special place in New Zealand's music scene and had a big impact on all of the performing artists even those not necessarily associated with the reggae genre, she said.
"Not just musically, but socially. A lot of his messages really resonate with New Zealanders of all races, [especially] his messages about unity. It really hit home for people here. Many years after his death you can't beat a bit of Bob Marley."
Book tickets at ticketek.co.nz from Tuesday.
