Lorde walked away from the Billboard Music Awards empty-handed yesterday as it was confirmed she has split from the man who discovered her and managed her rise to global super-stardom.
Lorde was nominated for top rock artist and top rock album for Pure Heroine at this year's awards which were announced in Las Vegas yesterday but missed out to Irish musician Hozier (top rock artist) and British band Coldplay for Ghost Stories (top rock album).
Meanwhile, sources confirmed to the New Zealand Herald that Lorde and Scott Maclachlan parted ways about a month ago but Maclachlan has refused to comment on the situation.
It is not known who is now managing the singer or why the relationship ended.
Lorde recently re-teamed with producer Joel Little, who co-wrote album Pure Heroine, for her second album, around the same time she and Maclachlan parted ways.
