KEY POINTS:
The cartoon satire South Park has now taken a swipe at royalty.
In an episode screened in America this week, the Queen is portrayed committing suicide after her plot to overthrow the US Government is discovered.
British tabloids have rounded on the show, deeming it deeply offensive.
C4 screens South Park in New Zealand, and TV Works boss Rick Friesen says he can understand why the British media is unhappy at the way the monarch has been portrayed.
He says whichever group the show takes a swipe at is likely to be offended.
But he says satire should make people think.
Rick Friesen says there is no decision on when the episode will air in New Zealand.
The show sparked protests and media bans over its episode about the Virgin Mary.
Mr Friesen says he thinks it is possible for the show to go too far and there are things that they cannot and will not broadcast in New Zealand.
But he says so far, South Park has been very controlled on that.
