Nicole Kidman has revealed which iconic 90s movie role she really wanted but missed out on.
The Aussie actress is currently doing the publicity rounds to promote her upcoming show The Undoing which also stars Hugh Grant.
The pair sat down for a joint interview with Marie Claire and Kidman shocked Grant when she revealed she wanted to play his love interest in one of his most popular films.
"I really wanted the role that Julia Roberts played in Notting Hill," Kidman said.
"Which part?" Grant asked. "I can't remember. It was not a big role."
Kidman and Grant first appeared on screen together in Paddington, but as the Aussie said in a separate Marie Claire interview, she's known the English actor for years.
"He's great to hang out with, so naughty," Kidman said. "I've known Hugh since my early 20s.
"My sister and I remember going to dinner with Hugh and Liz Hurley at The Ivy in London and she and I would talk in our secret sister language. Hugh was always like, 'What the hell are you saying?'"
The two will next be seen on screen together in The Undoing which starts streaming on Neon in New Zealand on October 26.
According to the show's synopsis: "The psychological thriller follows upper-class New York City couple, Grace (Nicole Kidman), a successful therapist, and her devoted husband, Jonathan Fraser (Hugh Grant), who are living the only lives they ever wanted for themselves. However, overnight a chasm opens in their lives: a violent death and a chain of terrible revelations."
