Kiwi Acting veteran Sam Neill will take a break from Hollywood to star in his first homegrown TV drama series.
Fresh from box office success in hit movie The Vow, the 64-year-old will play detective Jim "Stocks" Stockton in Harry, a six-part police show set in Auckland.
Neill will star alongside Samoan-born funnyman Oscar Kightley, who plays a solo dad cop struggling with his personal demons as he investigates a murder case.
Filming begins in Auckland today and Neill says he can't wait to make his Kiwi drama debut alongside his old mate Kightley, who co-wrote the script.
"I'm very much looking forward to coming home to work on what I think should be a ground-breaking series from New Zealand - with my friend Oscar Kightley," Neill says.
