KEY POINTS:
Irish actor Liam Neeson says he never meant to criticise Madonna's adoption of an African boy, and has threatened to sue gossip websites that said he did.
Neeson was responding to a number of internet reports of his comments about whether he had ever considered trying to adopt an African child.
At the time he said he had "issues" with taking a child away from its parents, culture and country.
"I wish to make it absolutely clear that I have not at any stage sought to criticise or pass judgment on Madonna's decision," the actor said, calling the allegations unfounded.
