Actress Natalie Portman reportedly held up development on the Ruth Bader Ginsburg biopic after insisting on working with a female director.
The Black Swan star is in talks to portray America's first female Jewish Supreme Court Justice in On The Basis of Sex, and Ginsburg reveals Portman pushed to have a woman take charge of the film because of the lack of opportunities for females in the industry.
"Natalie Portman came to talk to me about it (the film), and we had a very good conversation, and one thing, interesting, that she insisted on - it held up the project for a while... She said, 'I want the director to be a woman. There are not enough women in this industry. There are many talented out there'. And now they do have a woman director," Ginsburg said.
Marielle Heller is reportedly in talks to direct the film.
