KEY POINTS:
My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero has been forced to quit the band's current world tour, leaving just three full time members to finish the rest of the dates.
Iero left the tour this week in the UK after learning of a family member's illness, according to NME.com. He will be replaced on the tour by the band's guitar tech Matt Cortez, who filled in for Mikey Way for a stint earlier this year.
The departure leaves Mikey and Gerard Way and lead guitarist Ray Toro as the only permanent members on the current tour, which includes one show in New Zealand, at Auckland's Vector Arena on December 6th.
Drummer Bryar is currently on a break from performing to receive treatment for a wrist injury, although he is still travelling with the band.
Singer Gerard Way told NME Bryar was being replaced temporarily by "a friend of ours named Pete who plays in another band, so has asked us kindly not to say the name".
Way said fans could still expect a great show, despite the changes.
"We've been through a lot of stuff on this record, dealt with life situations and stuff, he told NME.
"Ultimately it's gonna be a little different and look a little different, but we're ready for this."
