Westie.
Friday night drinks? Meet me at:
Gypsy Tea Room in Grey Lynn for a gin and tonic.
Where I'll be wearing my new:
Topshop clogs which I will need to practise walking in first.
And this weekend I'm planning on:
Taking both my grandmas out for lunch - they're friends. And going to see The Vagina Monologues at The Basement - not with my grandmas; although they do watch Outrageous Fortune so they're pretty open-minded. I'm going to Kraftbomb on Sunday at the Grey Lynn Community Centre - a great place to buy other people's cleverness. I am a sucker for crafts.
But first I'll need to refuel at my favourite cafe:
Takahe - it's the very best cafe in Titirangi. You get to eat breakfast in the trees.
Saturday evening. If my dreams came true there would be a gig by:
Ryan Adams, David Bowie and Britney. At the end they would all come back on stage and sing together.
But if there's nothing else doing I'll probably just:
Have some lovely friends round for dinner: show off the new heat pump, drink red wine, eat apple pie and play board games.
On my stereo/headphones right now is:
LCD Soundsystem - Dance Yrself Clean.
The books I can't put down are:
A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry - a beautiful novel set in India. I'm visiting India for five weeks in November so I'm reading lots of Indian literature before then. Also The Princess Bride by William Goldman - yep, the book is even better and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer.
The TV show I take the phone off the hook for:
Seinfeld reruns. It's my all-time favourite telly show. George Costanza. No redeeming features but I love him.
The movie I've been dying to see:
Little Fockers the third film in the Meet the Parents series and it looks hilarious; Robert De Niro telling Ben Stiller he needs to be the "God-Focker".
A non-cooking Monday night means takeaways from:
McDonalds. Always. Cheeseburger with mayo, no pickle please.
Or a splash-out Wednesday night restaurant would be:
Wine Hot in Kingsland. I've only just discovered it. Holy delicious. And lovely staff.
