Friday night drinks? Meet me at... Was at Mea Culpa with some friends last week and we were seized by the process they go through to serve you up an absinthe. It was a real performance. And surprisingly good. I'll be returning for a second round in due course I'm sure.
Where I'll be wearing my new: Icebreaker hoodie. I'm not so good in the cold.
And this weekend I'm planning on: Rehearsing Saturday. Catching up on life Sunday. Be good to go for a walk in the Waitaks if we can fit it in.
But first I'll need to refuel at my favourite cafe: I keep getting drawn back to Ripe.
Saturday evening. If my dreams came true there would be a gig by: Bon Iver. I got introduced to their beautiful, haunting sounds last year and have listened to them continually since. It would be brilliant if they came here.
On my stereo/headphones right now is: The Essential Nina Simone. I keep imagining I'm in some smoky old jazz club. She's so cool.
The books I can't put down are: My parents just loaned me a stack of Donna Leon novels. They're really addictive. Juggling them with Michael King's Penguin History of New Zealand.
The TV show I take the phone off the hook for is: My whole flat is hooked on Go Girls. And I'm transfixed by Louis Theroux's documentaries. His stuff is genius.
The movie I've been dying to see is: This Way of Life looks amazing. I get the feeling it's going to inspire me to focus on what's important instead of all these silly "things" I keep thinking I want.
A non-cooking Monday night means takeaways from: Renkon always delivers. Well, not to your door, but...
Or a splash-out Wednesday night restaurant would be: Delicious is delicious. But that'd be a pretty special Wednesday.
*Simon London is in Silo Theatre's next production, When The Rain Stops Falling, which plays June 4-July 3, Herald Theatre, Aotea Centre, The Edge
