Friday night drinks? Meet me at: The Long Room in Ponsonby
Where I'll be wearing my new: Brand of facial hair, it seems to be working well for me at the moment. Am not sure what the next development is. Watch this space.
And this weekend I'm planning on: Seeing a mate off and catching up with some friends.
But first I'll need to refuel at my favourite cafe: Verona on K Rd.
Saturday evening. If my dreams came true there would be a gig by: Roxette - I've never seen them in concert. I've been a fan since the 80s, much to my detriment. I have to order their albums in from overseas because their new songs don't get played on the radio here anymore. Otherwise for something more local I'd go for Collapsing Cities. They rock.
But if there's nothing else doing I'll probably just: Go busking or see a movie.
On my stereo/headphones right now is: The Baal soundtrack by David Bowie.
The books I can't put down are: I don't read much but am trying to start a book called Orlando Furioso by Ludovico Ariosto which my friend Fabs gave me. It's a medieval epic romance. I keep getting distracted though, so it's more like I can't pick it up.
The TV show I take the phone off the hook for: Lost, The Big Bang Theory, Flash Forward, and Two and a Half Men.
The movie I've been dying to see: The Men Who Stare At Goats starring George Clooney and Ewan McGregor.
A non-cooking Monday night means takeaways from: Jasmine Rice Thai in Remuera.
Or a splash-out Wednesday night restaurant would be: Tanuki's Cave or Kura.
*James performs in Pear Shaped at The PumpHouse Theatre, Takapuna from May 19-29.
My big week: James Crompton
