Seven days in the life of the rock 'n' roller.
Friday night drinks? Meet me at:
El Prado, my local bar in Echo Park [Los Angeles]. It only serves wine and beer but it has a sorta dark New Yorky brick thing goin' on.
Where I'll be wearing my new:
Fold up Ray-Bans, not that they are new, or that I would wear them inside on an evening, but I had to say it 'cause it's the coolest thing I own.
And this weekend I'm planning on:
Recording some new songs that I just wrote.
But first I'll need to refuel at my favourite cafe:
Intelligentsia in Silverlake, which is one of the only places in LA where you can order a flat white and they understand what you mean.
Saturday evening. If my dreams came true there would be a gig by:
Arcade Fire, anywhere, but ideally in a tiny church somewhere, with a real organ.
But if there's nothing else doing I'll probably just:
Sit out on my balcony with some sort of alcoholic beverage and play records while I'm solving the world's problems with some close friends.
On my stereo/headphones right now is:
Delta Spirit - History From Below, The National - High Violet, Sonny and the Sunsets - Tomorrow Is Alright.
The books I can't put down are:
When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris, and Keeping the Love You Find by Harville Hendrix. Both quite contrasting. Both really good.
The TV show I take the phone off the hook for:
A TV show I want to watch that I haven't started to yet is Dexter. I save up TV series for when I'm on tour then I can watch them non-stop and back-to-back.
The movie I've been dying to see:
Boy, because it's not out here yet.
A non-cooking Monday night means takeaways from:
The taco truck by my house. One of the best in LA.
Or a splash-out Wednesday night restaurant would be:
Mooi - a new vegan restaurant down in my village.
