It’s NZ Music Month and the Herald has partnered with NZ On Screen to bring you a music video of a classic New Zealand song every day of the month. Today’s flashback was produced by Neil Finn and Cliff Curtis appears in the video.
Today's Music Month Flashback is Greenstone by Emma Paki, produced by Neil Finn in 1995.
Released as the follow-up to Paki's acclaimed debut single System Virtue, Greenstone made it to number five on the local charts.
In the Kerry Brown-directed music video, Paki wears full colour and a fern head-dress, and sings about the power of pounamu, while actor Cliff Curtis plays a roadie adrift in the city in black and white.
When things go awry on K Road outside McDonalds, Curtis heads to the bush.
