It’s NZ Music Month and the Herald has partnered with NZ On Screen to bring you a music video of a classic New Zealand song every day of the month. Today’s flashback was a hit on both sides of the Tasman in the late 1970s, and has had Australians and New Zealanders singing about Cuba ever since.
Today's Music Month Flashback is Dragon's April Sun in Cuba, from 1977's Running Free album.
The song was originally released in Australia where it charted at number two.
We loved to hear Marc Hunter singing about missile love here too: in 1978 April Sun in Cuba, by Hunter and Paul Hewson, hit number nine.
It's also number 10 on the APRA Top 100 NZ Songs list.
