PlayStation New Zealand says it expects "significant quantities" of its new PlayStation 4 console to be available early next year.
In the first three months of 2014, Sony says "thousands" of new consoles will be available via New Zealand retailers.
"Since launch on November 29, our priority has always been to get additional stock into New Zealand as quickly as possible to fulfil the overwhelming demand," said PlayStation NZ's Dave Hine.
"The best way to guarantee your PlayStation 4 in early next year is by going to your preferred retailer, either in store or online, before Christmas to place your pre-order."
More than 2.1 million PlayStation 4 consoles have been sold worldwide since the system went on sale in the US on November 15, estimates Sony.
