Lindsay Lohan was served with new legal papers as she arrived at court today.
When the Mean Girls actress turned up at the Beverly Hills Courthouse at 8.25am this morning - where she will appear before Judge Marsha Revel to monitor her probation for her 2007 driving under the influence arrest - she was reportedly served with legal documents for a civil case against her, claiming she owes boutique Tough as Nails over $16,000 (NZ$23,000) for unpaid items of designer clothing.
According to gossip website TMZ: "The process server says Lindsay 'freaked out', told people around her to get the guy out of the elevator and away from her. The process server says he attempted to hand Lindsay the papers but she would not take them so he dropped them on the elevator floor, by her feet."
Under Californian law, the papers have legally been served once the process server has spoken to the accused face-to-face.
The upmarket boutique has accused Lindsay of premeditated fraud, claiming she racked up a bill of $17,060.83 between November 2009 and February of this year, but only paid back $180.
The documents - which are to be filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court - claim the actress "had no intention of causing her business manager to pay the entire balance".
