The summer tour dates just keep on coming, and local lads The Datsuns are getting on board with a trip round the country, starting at the Waihi Beach Hotel on January 18.
Then they're off to whip up a rock 'n' roll storm at Auckland's Montecristo Room on January 19, Mangawhai Tavern on January 27 and the San Francisco Bath House on February 2. They also play the Rippon Festival in Wanaka on February 4. We hear they'll be releasing a much-anticipated new album later next year, so you can expect the hard rocking four-piece to road test some new tracks.
Back to visit New Zealand for the third time since December 2009 (they must really like us), London-based swinging rockabilly blues family band Kitty, Daisy & Lewis (pictured) will also be playing two late summer shows, getting the dance floor nice and sweaty with a show at The Powerstation in Auckland on January 31, and at Bodega in Wellington on February 1, showcasing songs from their most recent album Smoking in Heaven.
The Exponents have also announced a show to celebrate their 30th anniversary. They'll be joined by When the Cat's Away (with Sharon O'Neill), Dragon, Mental As Anything and Shona Laing for a Class of '81 extravaganza at Auckland's Villa Maria Estate on February 11. They're promising every song will be a hit.
Meanwhile, having impressed crowds with their performance at the first Auckland Laneway Festival in 2010, Australian instrumental rock trio The Dirty Three return for a show at The Powerstation on March 14, which will seem intimate after their gig at Sydney's Opera House two days earlier.
