KEY POINTS:
Another week, another tour announcement to make ... or four.
Recently named Best Live Act at the Brit Awards, Muse is set to return to our shores this November, playing Trusts Stadium Waitakere and Westpac Centre, Christchurch.
After a mesmerising performance at the Big Day Out this year, the Devon band are sure to draw a solid crowd to both shows, playing tracks from all four of their albums.
After forming in 1997, Muse won a loyal following of fans with their debut album Showbiz. But their latest effort, Black Holes and Revelations, has really captured the world's attention.
Since releasing the album last year, the band has won a spate of awards, including Best British Band at the NME Awards and Best Rock Act at the UK Festival Awards. Ticket details are yet to be confirmed but rest assured, we'll tell you when they are.
Speaking of Muse, Kristin Hersch of 80s alt rock band Throwing Muses, returns to New Zealand next month for the first time in 13 years. Playing the Kings Arms on October 14 and Wellington's San Francisco Bath House, October 15, tickets are $30 from Real Groovy (Auckland) and Slow Boat Records (Wellington).
And Kings of Leon have confirmed their two tour dates. The Tennessee brothers will be playing Auckland's Vector Arena on January 11 and Wellington's TSB Arena on January 12.
The brief tour will mark the boys third trip to New Zealand and their first headline tour, having performed at Auckland's Big Day Out in 2004 and again in 2006.
The concerts will promote the band's third album, Because of the Times, which has gone platinum in New Zealand since its April release. With the impossible-to-please Noel Gallagher as a certified fan, you know these boys must be good. As Gallagher said: "They've got the tunes, Caleb's got one of the best voices ever and they are a family. You can't buy that shit man."
Tickets go on sale September 17 via Ticketek (Wellington) and TicketMaster (Auckland) outlets.
Also on the rumour mill we hear American singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright will be visiting in February next year.
Finally, those of a slightly older generation will be delighted to hear folk-rockers America are heading down under, playing three shows this December in Rotorua, Wellington and Christchurch.
All tickets available from Ticketek.
