HOME SICK
It's a common refrain among British migrants that we Kiwis live in cold, damp wooden shacks with tin roofs. This series aims to address those sorts of problems and highlight the health issues arising out of poor housing. Each week, a team consisting of environmentalist Dr Steven Stokes, GP Dr Chantal Gianni, builder Craig "Puka" Lyn, and interior designer Hamish Dodd (My House, My Castle), investigates a home that the owners claim is making them sick. After hearing the homeowners' gripes, the team moves in to check out what's causing the problems and work out a plan to set things right before the builders move in to perform the necessary renovations. In the first episode, the Tasker family believes the crumbling roof on their country property is made from asbestos. But closer inspection reveals a far more sinister problem.
