Music guru Molly Meldrum has opened his eyes for the first time since being placed in an induced coma after falling three metres at his Melbourne home.
Meldrum's manager, Mark Klemens, said doctors at Melbourne's The Alfred hospital reduced the 65-year-old's sedation on Monday before asking him if he was able to open his eyes.
"He did, slowly and deliberately,'' Mr Klemens said.
"He is still critical, he is still in an induced coma but this at least gives us something positive.''
Meldrum fractured his skull when he fell three metres down stairs around a spa in the backyard of his Richmond home on Thursday night, as he was putting up Christmas decorations.
