KEY POINTS:
Actress Miriama Smith and partner Jonny Williams danced their way out of the competition when they were shown the door on the Dancing With The Stars semi-finals last night.
The pair scored 68 for their two dances.
Netballer Temepara George and partner Stefano Olivieri, and former rugby league player and boxer Monty Betham and his partner Nerida Jantti now face each other in the finals next week.
The couples performed two dances each with George and Olivieri top-scoring with the judges with 70 while Betham and Jantti managed 68.
The judges gave departing pair Smith and Williams a low score of 33 for their jive despite praising it. Judge Craig Revel-Horwood said it was full of "energy" and "awesome" and absolutely "smashing" while Alison Leonard said the energy could have been channelled better.
Betham and Jantti survived the competition despite getting the lowest score of the night, 29, for their tango which Revel-Horwood slammed as "ploddy, stonky" and criticised Betham for "not leading the dance".
The highest score of 36 for an individual dance - for the waltz - went to George and Olivieri. The judges called it "gorgeous", "lovely and elegant", and "a pleasure to watch".
