It's been 11 years since the release of Minuit's debut album, The 88, and now the electro-dance trio with personality plus have announced the band is done, and they're marking the end of an era with a "Final Fling" tour of the country.
They're playing San Fran in Wellington on Saturday November 15, Dux de Lux in Christchurch on Saturday November 22, the Tuning Fork in Auckland on Friday November 28, and a very special hometown gig in Nelson will be announced soon.
The band haven't given a particular reason for calling it quits, though they're certainly billing it as a celebratory occasion, and to say thanks to their fans they're also putting everything in their online merchandise store on sale, so from this week on you'll be able to ransack the virtual racks for T-shirts and back catalogue albums including The Guards Themselves, Find Me Before I Die A Lonely Death dot com, and 2012's Last Night You Saw This Band.
They will also be having mini pop-up garage sales at each of their shows to sell off vinyl, posters, books, possibly a backdrop or two, the knitted Minuit tour banner, TomTom's plasticine props from the Sum of Us stop-motion video, and other classic band memorabilia.
