Michelle Pfeiffer stuns in rare red carpet appearance for 'mother!'

She prefers to stay out of the spotlight - but when Michelle Pfeiffer arrived at the 74th Venice Film Festival in Italy this week, she showed everyone she's still got it.

The 59-year-old made the appearance at the esteemed film festival for the premiere of her latest movie, the psychological thriller mother!

Pfeiffer stunned in the black and gold chain-mail dress that clung to her trim figure. With a smoky eye and her hair loose and flowing, the mum-of-two added a touch of drama to the sexy look with a sky-high gold platform heel.

Pfeiffer was joined by her mother! co-star Jennifer Lawrence, who wore a flowing ballerina-style gown.

It's been a while since fans have seen the '90s A-lister on big screens and in magazines. The three-time Oscar nominee recently opened up to Interview magazine about why she chose to "disappear" from Hollywood while raising her children with her television producer husband, David E. Kelly.

"I'm an empty nester now," she told Interview. "I've never lost my love for acting. I feel really at home on the movie set. I'm a more balanced person, honestly, when I'm working. But I was pretty careful about where I shot, how long I was away, whether or not it worked out with the kids' schedule. And I got so picky that I was unhireable. And then ... I don't know, time just went on ... I disappeared, yeah."
