Melanie Griffith didn't notice she'd gone overboard with plastic surgery until after everyone else in the world did.
"I didn't [realise] until people started saying, 'Oh my God, what has she done?!' I was so hurt I went to a different doctor and he started dissolving all of this s - t that this other woman doctor had put in," she told Net-a-Porter's Porter magazine. "Hopefully, I look more normal now."

Griffith, now 59, has also barrelled into relationships over the years, namely with ex-husband Don Johnson (with whom she shares Fifty Shades of Grey star daughter Dakota Johnson).
"The minute I met him, I had this mad f - king teenage crush on him! I fell in love immediately," she said.
The couple were married for six months in 1976 before splitting and then reconciling in 1989.
"Don was actually waiting for me when I got out of rehab," she said.

"We got back together; it was the most natural, perfect, loving thing. Then it just sort of wasn't working. I think it's hard when you are both in the public eye, unless one of you gives up work."
The actress has been to rehab twice, but said she was a "total functioning mom" to her three children while they were growing up.
"I wasn't like a drunk-on-the-floor, out-of-it person," she said.
"I didn't do some things I probably should have done but, mostly, I was there for my kids. They had a sort of privileged gypsy life."
Griffith also opened up about the end of her marriage to Antonio Banderas in 2014 after 18 years of marriage.
"I think part of the reason my marriage to Antonio fell apart was because I was stuck; nobody else is to blame," she admitted.

"It's just that I personally got stuck and I won't let that happen again, I want to enjoy life, I want to do whatever I want to do."
Griffith hasn't dated since the split, however "I'm shy with men now, very reticent," she explained. "I haven't met anyone in the almost two years we have been divorced."
The actress also spoke openly about her past flings with Warren Beatty, Ryan O'Neal and Jack Nicholson - and perhaps more bold-faced names that the public hasn't heard about yet.
"I did have a little thing with those three back in the day. Yeah, they were awesome," she said. "I am friends with all of them, pretty much. I'm sure there's a couple I've forgotten about."
