Eighties actress Melanie Griffith has checked herself into a rehab facility again, her representative has confirmed.
The 52-year-old has checked herself in for treatment at the Cirque Lodge in Utah, the same facility used by fellow thespians Kirsten Dunst and Lindsay Lohan in recent years.
The star's rep tells People.com: "She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy," says Robin Baum. "This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago."
This is the third stint for the actress, who is married to Latino hunk Antonio Banderas, in recent years.
But while her rep makes it sound as though her rehab visit is boringly routine, roving snitches with probing minds have other ideas...
A snitch tells gossip queen Perez Hilton that there's more to Griffith's rehab stint than meets the eye.
"The reason Melanie checked in was her husband was demanding that she get clean and sober. He told her that if she didn't get the help she needed it would be the end of their marriage," the snitch said.
And there's more...
Another chatty snitch tells Star magazine: "She's working with the counsellors on getting control of her demons. The reason Melanie checked in was her husband was demanding that she get clean and sober.
"Melanie's struggling right now, but Antonio has been checking in on her as much as he is allowed, making sure she gets back on her feet."
Griffith has battled drink and drug demons in the past. In 2000 she released a statement saying she was entering rehab for an addiction to painkillers, reportedly kick-started after a neck injury.
"Overcoming addictions is tough but it can be made easier if you have someone that can offer support," she said at the time.
"My husband and family supported me so much through this journey and continue to do so."
Good luck with the stint, love.
