Hours after announcing his resignation from the 95bFM Breakfast Show, Matt Heath has been confirmed as the new Drive show host on Radio Hauraki.
He is in the curious position of replacing someone who never actually did the job - Iain Stables.
Stables' contract with The Radio Network was terminated following publicity over an altercation with an airport check-in assistant.
"I'm sad to leave b, but it will be good to give someone else a go, "Heath said.
But he won't miss the breakfast radio work hours.
"The mornings were brutal, and they didn't get any easier over the 8 months I did it."
"Matt now adds mainstream radio host to his list of achievements that include comedian, musician, TV and movie star and writer," according to Mike Regal - Radio Hauraki programme director.
Heath will host his last show for the student radio station this Friday, before a new, yet to be revealed permanent host, starts on Monday.
He'll start at on-air Radio Hauraki on Monday 31st January.
