She told the publication that her birthing experience was "terrifying" after Harper-Rose was born with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck, twice.
"I was so scared of losing her," Zoe admitted, adding that she had a sudden feeling of "fear rush over me".
But after receiving good news about her daughter's recovery, the new parents have been able to soak up the experience.
"Sitting here holding something so precious - that is a part of me, that is my blood - is something I've always dreamed of, and I will cherish it forever," Zoe gushed.
Alex added: "She's stolen my heart in so many ways. I just feel like the luckiest man alive!"
On Monday, the pair also announced the arrival of their daughter on Instagram, with Zoe writing: "A SLICE OF HEAVEN ON EARTH. @alex_garner_ & I would like to joyfully welcome into the world our beautiful daughter Harper-Rose Garner.

Last week, the father-of-one hinted that his partner had finally given birth in a cryptic Instagram post.
The reality TV couple sent fans into meltdown, with one asking "OMG she's here?" and another writing, "Please put us out of our misery".
Weeks earlier, Zoe revealed she was trying various methods to hurry along the birth
She shared an Instagram photo of her baby bump, writing in the caption: "WAITING GAME is getting hard.
"I've tried acupuncture, castor oil (I don't recommend that) jumping on the fit ball, long walks, spicy food, eating dates but so far no success! This baby is not budging!"
