Married At First Sight Australia star Jessika Power has lashed out at trolls who criticised her support of her late ex-partner, Sam “The Punisher” Abdulrahim.
The pair enjoyed a short-lived romance in 2019 after Abdulrahim, a former member of the Mongols motorcycle gang with known connections to the criminal underworld, was released from prison. They had stayed in touch until a few months before his death, Power said.
The 32-year-old was shot several times, including in the head, in an alleged ambush in the carpark of Quest Hotel in Preston, Melbourne, about 10am on Tuesday (local time).
However, her kind words sparked backlash online, with the former MAFS star facing criticism over her support of Abdulrahim.
In a rant on Thursday, Power hit back at trolls who she claimed weren’t being “respectful” to a man who had lost his life.
“I’m just over it and it doesn’t need to reflect back into my personal life now … please be respectful and understand that someone has passed away,” she said in a video posted to her Instagram Story.
“And that we don’t need to be a**holes on the internet constantly and I know there are some troll accounts out there that go, ‘Oh, I wanna be a piece of s*** today’.
