Mariah Carey facing 'disaster' in Las Vegas as ticket sales slump

Mariah Carey is facing another "disaster" as she's having major issues selling tickets to her Butterfly Returns shows in Las Vegas.

The super star is due to open her three-month residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace but seats are still available for the July 5 opening night.

An insider told the New York Post: "It's a disaster", adding "Scalpers bought a bunch of the tickets and are freaking out."

Carey fired her fiercely protective manager Stella Bulochnikov in November and hasn't performed since Christmas.

According to the Post, Bulochnikov was going to book Carey at a smaller venue in Vegas "so they could keep announcing sold-out shows" but "instead, they put her back in Caesars with 4300 seats".

The blow follows sexual harassment accusations from Bulochnikov against Carey, in which she alleged the star was often nude in front of her. Bulochnikov also claimed that Carey has a substance abuse problem.

Carey's publicist told the New York Post: "These allegations are false and come from a source that must be desperate to pretend to be in the know … Look forward to seeing you at the Vegas show — if you can get a seat!"

The publicist denied any cash flow problems after Carey sold her diamond engagement ring from James Packer for NZ$4 million and LiveNation insisted to the Post that it's "very pleased with ticket sales".
