A young man is dead following a crowd surfing incident at a Smashing Pumpkins concert in Vancouver on Monday night, Canadian news outlets are reporting.
Police said the man was unconscious when security staff dragged him out of the concert's mosh pit.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police are still awaiting a pathologist's report and toxicology test results to determine the exact cause of death.
A spokeswoman for the venue told reporters: "It's just a really, really sad ending to what started out to be probably a very fun night for a young man."
