Organisers of homegrown film competition Make My Movie have extended their deadlines after an overwhelming response from budding filmmakers.
The competition is giving away a $100,000 budget for the best movie idea as judged by a panel including industry experts, with the public's opinion represented via social media.
But event organiser Ant Timpson says there have been so many entries they'll need more time to sort through them all.
"We had an inkling it would be popular but never as popular as it has turned out," says organiser Ant Timpson.
"There are some multiple entries from some creative folk but a huge number of individual ones."
