Her cryptic post left viewers desperate to know more, with one writing: "Wait so.....does this mean that Arya wins the whole damn thing?!?!?! Last woman standing?!?!?!?"
Maisie's character, Arya Stark, lost her father at the hands of despised King Joffrey, and her brother and mother during the dramatic Red Wedding episode.
In the most recent season, Arya has shown her enemies no mercy, completing a mass killing of Lord Walder Frey's men, after murdering Lord Frey and feeding him his sons in a pie during season six.
The season seven scene at first appeared to be a flashback as Frey addressed his followers before the opening credits, but it eventually became clear it was Arya in disguise.
The surprise attack ended with Arya striding out of the hall filled with all the men she poisoned in revenge for the Red Wedding massacre.
"It's so f***ed up! Even Arya is surprised she has so much power. In that last moment she's staring out at all those men dying, she's turned into a bit more of a monster than she's ever realised. I don't think she's sad about that but she's got it on her mind," Maisie told Entertainment Weekly.
The actress also shared her dream ending for the fantasy series based on books by George R.R. Martin.
"I've always had this fantasy in the back of my head. I don't think it's a good ending and fans might not like it, but that somebody would sit on the Iron Throne at the end and then they whip their face off and it's Arya instead. I've always had that dream," she said.
