Kiwi pop sensation Lorde has graced her second Billboard magazine cover in less than two years.
The release of the latest issue of the top United States music magazine will coincide with her hometown gig at Auckland's Vector Arena tonight. In a sneak peek released yesterday, the November issue of the magazine listed "five things you didn't know about Lorde before she was famous".
It revealed the 17-year-old Devonport schoolgirl-turned-Grammy winner's escapades breaking into boats "doing Ouija boards and telling secrets", sharing a bedroom with her sister until recently, and having a rotten pear thrown at her in high school.
"It hit me so hard in the stomach that it exploded everywhere," she told the magazine. "Look, you don't have to do anything in high school to get a rotten pear thrown at you."
Lorde, who will turn 18 on Friday, performed to a sell-out crowd at Wellington's TSB Arena last night. She announced the Billboard cover on her Twitter feed yesterday.
