UPDATED: Madonna

has come under fire by a victims' rights group for wearing a pair of stilettos with a replica gun as a heel.

The 50-year-old headline-grabber was snapped wearing the

Chanel gun heel shoes

at the premiere of her filmmaking debut

in New York on Monday.

Shoe-shamed

But the star's controversial choice of shoes has attracted a backlash from British murder victims' group Mothers Against Murder And Aggression (MAMAA), calling her "uncaring".

MAMAA spokesperson Lyn Costello, said: "I am horrified that Madonna can see

these shoes

as fashion.

"As a mother herself I would have thought that she would have paused for a second and thought about all the young people here and in her own country that have died because of gun crime," Costello said, adding, "She should have thought about all the young people that have died because of gun crime."

"We need the whole of society to take responsibility and action in stopping the glamorisation of weapons.

"Celebrities have a massive part to play and an icon like Madonna should have more sense. It's uncaring.

"Surely she reads the news and realises that young people are dying every day," she concluded.

Fashion faux pas

The Chanel shoe, designed by Karl Lagerfeld, was apparently inspired by an image of a gun which he gave to Chanel's shoe designer Laurence Decade, and told him to make the killer heels.

Meanwhile, UK charity Crimestoppers also criticised Madonna, saying she has done nothing to help the fight against gun crime.

"We take a strong view on celebrities glamorising violence," said a spokesman.

"These celebrities are put on a pedestal and are idolised by many of their young fans so it is time for them to take more responsibility for their actions.

"Wearing gun-themed attire is foolish and insensitive and is sending out entirely the wrong message."

The 'Miami Vice' shoe will be on sale worldwide soon.

The thing about Madonna is that she knows she has plenty of talent in her holster; she just doesn't give a damn about anything else. And in her world, anything worth taking seriously is worth making fun of. It's all about subversion with Madge.

And before we leap to criticise her, we should remember the old adage: "Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes." But not those shamed shoes, thank you...they're trailer trash tacky.

Breaking news: British tabloid The Sun is reporting that Madonna and Guy Ritchie are about to confirm their divorce. A statement confirming the split is imminent, says the newspaper.

The couple reportedly "can't bear to live with the pretence any longer," and are calling it quits after eight years of marriage.

A 'highly-placed' source told

The Sun

: "It's very sad. They were a great couple and brilliant parents. They just couldn’t live together any more.”

"Despite huge attempts to patch things up they both knew deep down that divorce was on the cards. It wasn't a matter of 'if' but when'."

We've been here before, but this time I think it's serious. I think they're dunzo.

Lindsay Lohan

says she has been given the "green light" to sing a duet with her Madgesty. Apparently her people will talk to Madge's people, pointless meetings in starkly decorated board rooms will occur, and that'll be the end of that one. But not if you're Li-Lo - she's in denial, and still thinks it will happen. Of the hopeful duet, Lohan said, "That would be incredible. That would be beyond..." Ah yes, those elipses signpost a follow-on thought. Mine says..."hateful".

Madge has reportedly vetoed the duet idea, saying: "How about never? Is never good for you?" Okay, I made the last bit up.

at fellow synthetic Katie Price, aka Jordan: "I have no idea how she became famous."

Really? I can think of two very big reasons.

"She shows off her kids all the time in TV shows - that's beyond low."

Jordan's no mute, so expect a retort liketysplit. That woman's mind is like a steel trap, rusty and likely to snap at any moment!

Miley Cyrus

has reportedly finished writing he

memoir

. Yes, she's 15.

The Hannah Montanna star says she wants to tell her "inspiring story" with her memoir. Come on, what life lessons could this tween possibly impart with?

"I am so excited to let fans in on how important my relationship with my family is to me," the 15-year-old singer-actress said in a statement earlier this year. "I hope to motivate mothers and daughters to build lifetimes of memories together and inspire kids around the world to live their dreams."

Here's an extract (ahem) from her "inspiring story":

"I had lots and lots of fun today playing with my favourite mouse, Mickey. He makes me happy so. Ooh, I can feel a song coming on, 'la la la la'. See, I can sing. Do I get paid now?"

As for a publishing date, Cyrus isn't too sure: "I'm not sure when it's going to come out. It's finished but you've got a long process of editing and all that kind of stuff, so it takes a while."
