Pop superstar Madonna is being lined up for a cameo role on hit TV series The Simpsons.
Creator Matt Groening is said to be desperate to get the singer to star on the cult animated show, following the likes of Mel Gibson, Stephen Hawking, Sir Elton John and Dolly Parton.
Groening says, "We would love her to do the show. She's one of the people we haven't been able to get yet."
And despite escalating rumours to the contrary, Groening assures fans that he has no intention of pulling the plug on the long-running show anytime soon.
He added: "It's going to carry on for another few years at least. There is no reason to stop. Our goal is to keep surprising people."
He also revealed plans for a special Prison Break episode of the animated series in the near future "with tattoos and everything!"
