Madonna has addressed reports she was booed and pelted with bottles at a performance in France, blaming the ruckus on "thugs" who rushed the stage to cause mayhem.
The singer put on an intimate show for around 2000 fans at the Paris Olympia venue as a last minute addition to her MDNA world tour.
The concert lasted just 45 minutes, much shorter than previous dates on the trek, and crowd members angry about the short set jeered the Material Girl and hurled bottles at the stage.
Madonna took to her official website to explain the incident.
"Playing the Olympia was a magical moment for me and it was a real treat to do this special show for my fans and be so close to them," she wrote.
