Funding has been granted for a second season of Madeleine Sami's TV3 comedy show Super City by NZ on Air, it has been reported.
Sami stars as five different characters living in various parts of Auckland in the show, which first screened on TV3 last year to critical acclaim.
As reported by Dannews.co.nz, NZ on Air today confirmed Super City will get a second season, as well as Auckland Daze and a new project featuring Flight of the Conchords star Rhys Darby called Short Poppies.
Other TV projects to get the green light include new seasons of Country Calendar and Radar Across the Pacific (TV One), Pakipumeka and Mana Wairua (Maori TV) and Aftermath (Prime).
NZ On Air Chief Executive Jane Wrightson said there were a large number of applications for the $12 million funding pool and "tough decisions" had to be made.
