MOVIES Following in the tradition of great American high school wrestling movies comes Win Win. Directed by actor-director Tom McCarthy (The Station Agent, The Visitor) the oddball film centres on Mike Flaherty, a stressed, disheartened small town elder-law attorney (played by Paul Giamatti), who sets in motion a serendipitous run of events when he takes guardianship of an aged client. When the client's teenage grandson Kyle (Alex Shaffer) turns up, Mike's family take him in. It turns out Kyle is an excellent wrestler, and a strong addition to Mike's struggling high school wrestling team.
And if classic novel adaptations are more your speed then Jane Eyre also graces screens this week. It's faithful to the text, is directed by newcomer Cary Fukunaga and stars Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender.
