Queen of pop
Madonna
's sizzling romance with toyboy lover
Jesus Luz
is back on the boil. Not that it was ever off, mind.
The singer, 51, laid on a very public display of affection with her Brazilian whippersnapper, 23, as they partied at the Rio carnival yesterday, weeks after tabloid reports claimed they'd split.
Snaps: Madonna and Jesus indulge in PDA
Reports surfaced a couple of weeks ago that the pair had ended their romance. Why? Because Luz got cold feet over their age difference and, well, basically ran out of things to say to each other. Exactly.
A source 'close' to Madge told the
Chicago Sun Times
the singer had said: "We've just run out of things to talk about. I mean, it's really pushing it for us to have common ground these days. We have Kabbalah, but that's about it."
"The problem with Jesus is as simple as it is obvious. It's the age difference. He's 23. She's 51," the source added.
"How long could it last? How it even lasted a year seems a miracle to a lot of people. He's perfectly nice, a gentleman and very smart. But they are in such different places in their lives."
Cobblers.
Madge has now shushed the split rumours after being snapped enjoying the festivities at the Rio carnival with her model boy toy.
Joined by her daughter
Lourdes
and Malawian tot
Mercy James
, Madge cheered on the parade from a VIP box and mingled with the likes of the cabinet chief of Brazil's President
Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva
, and Rio Governor
Sergio Cabral
.
The pair has been inseparable since they landed in Rio last week, where Madge is doing her bit for charity and investigating ways to help Brazil's poor kids.
After their bout of PDA, the pair jetted off for a family jolly on the paradise island of Angra.
Unicorns and rainbows, kids.
Meanwhile...
Fresh reports just in say Madge is set to return to film. Mercifully, she won't be causing retina damage in front of the camera (
Swept Away
, anyone?). She's heading back into the director's chair.
Her Madgesty is about to tackle her second directorial project - a historical biopic called
W.E.
, about the life and times of late British royal
King Edward VIII
, who abdicated the throne in 1936 to marry American divorcee
Wallis Simpson
. Totes scandal.
She's been linked to this project for ages, so it's no great surprise that
Variety
has now confirmed she's signed on the dotted line to co-write and direct the film.
There was talk at one point that the singer would play Wallis (a woman who was branded a "sexual predator" at the height of the scandal - hmmm, parallels?), but
Up In The Air
star
Vera Farmiga
is now favourite to take the part.
Can Madge bounce back after the critical panning of 2008 feature directorial debut

Twilight
star
Robert Pattinson
is not a fan of under-the-bonnet lady parts. In fact, he finds them repulsive.
In a candid interview with US magazine
Details
, in which the star parades with scantily-clad models, Pattinson says he found the whole experience uncomfortable.
"I really hate vaginas. I'm allergic to vagina," he tells
Details
. "But I can't say I had no idea, because it was a 12-hour shoot, so you kind of get the picture that these women are going to stay naked after, like, five or six hours."
Pattinson adds that he was was totally hungover during the ordeal, and is thankful the photo shoot doesn't look porny.
In one of the snaps he's seen caressing a blonde as she lies naked in a bath and in another snap two topless women can be seen straddling him.
"This shoot, it was kind of eighties nakedness, you know?" he says.
"If you look at porn in, like, the eighties, there was something kind of quaint about it, quite sweet-like this little naked community. The people who made it liked it, they had respect for it.
"Not remotely like the porn that's available now. No community in it at all. It's just everything, everywhere."
Pattinson will soon be seen playing a bed-hopping Parisian journalist alongside
Uma Thurman
in upcoming flick
Bel Ami
.
He's already said he found the between-the-sheets action with Thurman "disturbing".
He said: "The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing.
"Her [Thurman's] character Madeleine kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character thinks like an animal. There are a lot of sex scenes in this film, so I'm asking quite a lot of myself, and with lots of different people as well."
Word of advice, Pattinson: Don't sweat the petty stuff, and don't pet the sweaty stuff.
