The inquest into Sophie's death was opened on June 27 during a very short hearing at North Tyneside Coroners Court on June 27.
At the hearing, which lasted less than a minute, the case was adjourned.
It is believed Sophie, who appeared on ITV's reality TV show Love Island in 2016 and also worked as a model, had been struggling with mental health problems in the run up to her death.
During the hearing Trever Carroll, Assistant Coroner for South Northumberland, said: "Following initial inquiries it is appropriate to open an inquest into her death. (I will) adjourn at this stage for further inquiries to determine cause of death."
None of Sophie's friends or family was present at the hearing.
