Love Actually has been named most romantic movie in a new British study measuring viewers' emotional reactions.
The poll ahead of Valentine's Day found the 2003 tale triumphed ahead of other love stories such as Dirty Dancing and Ghost.
Online movie rental firm LoveFilm examined the neurological responses of couples to what they saw on screen, with the Richard Curtis-directed tale giving the strongest reaction.
The Notebook, starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, was runner-up.
"When a couple watch a romance together each person mistakenly attributes a part of the adrenaline buzz produced by the film to the presence of their partner, said Neuropsychologist Dr David Lewis, of Mindlab International, who analysed the reactions.
